Verto

Verto needed a visual identity platform for a peer-to-peer payment app built for Canada; a low-barrier alternative to PayPal and Interac e-Transfers, allowing people to send, request and receive money through a simple app experience. The brand needed to feel intelligent, clear and trustworthy, with enough confidence for a fintech product handling people’s money, but without becoming cold or overly technical.

The name, rooted in ideas of exchange, turning and transformation, provided a natural starting point, and influenced the final brand colour palette. The identity and graphic language focused on movement: the simple, instinctive act of passing money from one person to another. Dynamic, linear graphic elements gave the brand a sense of immediacy and ease, while keeping it recognizable, current (yet not trendy) and grounded enough to feel secure. A photography and illustration style guide were delivered as part of platform to establish a distinctive look to engage the target audience.
